I just wondered how much time many of you spend in the classroom with your players. I've been told I am a "chalkboard-freak".
I like to do at least and hour and a half a day.

I notice drool and snoring when I'm on the chalkboard - so we keep it brief.
I usually (on Mondays) draw it up on the chalk board, we watch it on video, then have THEM draw it up on the grease board. Total time here is maybe 45 minutes - 5 minutes chalk - 30 minutes video - 5 minutes grease board

"chalk-talk" is mixed with video cut-ups. with dsv, i can draw (telestrate) on the video. we do more video-talk than actual chalk talk.
chalk-talk is more of an off-season / pre-season thing. still use it during the season but the meetings are geared more to visual of game clips (ours, theirs, practice)

We watch last years game tape and break it down together in our team room. I draw up plays and talk about blocking schemes, and new stuff we plan to implement, but I don't over do it, keep the chalk talk reel quick and to the point- THEY START TO LOOSE FOCUS REAL QUICK- if I start talking forever about X's & O's , I do this every Mondays for 50 minutes.
