any of you that run hurry up, how many formations do you use? what are they? I'm looking at 5, maybe 6. Having trouble deciding on the last one or two. Looking at trey and trips open to get a 3x1 formation, but don't know if we need one or the other or both. Also thought about using bunch as our 3x1 formation, and just moving all 3 tight or wide.

limit the number of people that have to move. for us, our outside receivers NEVER change sides. so, that leaves only 2 others that have to move.

Would you just being using this as your 2 minute offense or will this be your Base? If it's just your 2 min offense, I would think you wouldn't need to many formations and I double what Huey said about not chaning the sides of your X and Z. When we went no huddle we did alot of 4 WR and just kept the same formation. when we went 3WR 1 TE we would move our slot around. Sometimes we liked to run the RB out and go Empty.

i use 4 formations
2x2; 3x1 (trips open); 3x1 (tight bunch, open); 3x2 (empty)
depending on personel, use some tight ends and just modify these 4 formations to accomidate the tight end. ie, pro twins instead of 2x2. this varies form year to year, haven't had a te in several years so that is why the 4 listed are no te formations.

It will be our base. Already have Pro, Pro/Twins, Twins Open (2x1), and Doubles (2x2), and was going to add a 3x1 so I would have 1 type of each formation. Personnel has us with a TE this year, in our twins open and doubles the TE will just slide out more than we will sub for him. Should I cut any of these out?

i think thats about right chuck. i never use more than 1 back so the extra formation you have is the pro set. and since 2 backs are part of your package i think that makes sense.
good luck dude!

We currently use the no huddle one back offense. Formations include 2x2 base 3x1 (including 3x1 with TE) Ace or Double Tightend 4x1 3x2 Also can use TE and Wing set with 2 recievers opposite
