I'm looking for some questions to ask a good o-line coach (also the HC) when I go meet with him one on one. We are going to talk about o-line and maybe some d-line. Anyways he told me to come up with questions to ask him and the only thing I can think of is "just teach me". To me there is more than just teach me. What am I missing and what questions would you ask?

I would want to know what his daily drill progression is, what he teaches for footwork, what/how he teaches the linemen to use their hands, just a couple of thoughts off the top of my head.

I've been doing this for 27 years and when I discuss technique one-on-one I ask him to coach me just like I was a player. Other questions? Ask him about his teaching progression.

This is exactly what I was talking about with the "White Board Coach vs Field Coach" discussion. Have him explain each drill while he takes YOU through the prgression. He might know how to teach the drill, but the WHY is also important. Other questions
Drill Progression Scouting tendancies Site Adjustments Strategy and Tactics Discipline - what type is he?
Those are just a few, but his ability to TEACH/COACH on the Field will be the single biggest factor in his success for you.

Don't forget to ask him "WHY" he does the things he does. I find that this is often the most overlooked aspect. Hopefully the answer isn't "because that's the way it's done," and he can give you alternatives with examples of why the alternatives are not as sound.
