Have any of you ever seen these? I am very interested in making some.. Just wonder what the advantage is over regular sleds.. other than hand blocking..

forget the sled I would rather have one of those big samoan dudes like in the pic
Seriously, I don't know why people would prefer wood sleds over traditional sleds, other than for price. But I am not a real big sled guy in the first place

they are used for conditioning in the off-season. This is a pic of the Minnesota Vikings during their off-season workouts. Curtis Schultz was the strength coach and had them pushing these sleds to the point of puking.

I guess when you are selling to the NFL and big time colleges money is not an issue.. But I know I would prefer to make my own.. Also, who needs his plans when the pictures show all you need?

I guess it depends on how durable you want to make it. Yes you are right when your dealing with the big time money is not an issue. I know we have the sled at our school and that has basically replaced the 5 man sled.
The Bear sled is a great idea with the harness accessory. Not to make any excuses on the cost of the sled (because I don't know) but you have to figure in materials and labor and I am pretty sure the cost includes shipping.
I was looking at one time in taking this company over from him and I still may at some time, but I know if I do I will have to lower the prices. HaaHaaHaa

At one of my old schools we had one that we used in our field house, worked great in there on our indoor track. The main reason we had it was for indoor use.
