I am in the process of starting a summer camp dealing specifically in speed and agility for linemen.
There is an every growing interest in summer football participation. I remember just 10 years ago, when I was in school, the summer was used for us linemen to lift weights on occasion and be lazy until the last 3 or so weeks. I do not feel that this made for a very good opportunity for myself and my teammates to be the best we could be.
So... I want to give the big guys something they can do during the summer while the skill guys are doing their 7 on 7.
I might correlate this with some competition type events.. maybe some linemen relay/games.. but it will mainly be a 2 day type camp..
I just wanted to kick the idea around with some of you guys... To see how important some of you think something like this could be for a high school linemen..
We would not focus on 40 yard time, but rather on shorter movements such as 20 yard dash and the 20 yard shuttle. Also on more lateral movements and power movements. Also incorporate upper and lower body plyos..
Just wanted to see what some of you think.

I understand there are summer programs out there called Lineman Challenge that correspond with 7 on 7 comps.
I'd like to do something like that with my guys.
After baseball and track we start our big men workouts. Non padded line drills and plyos. Beside our line drills we do ladders, dots, medicine balls, hoops, flip some tires, demeanor, harness work, punch some sleds, 10 yard sprints, etc,
Try to make it fun and have some competition. Try to reinforce technique.
