Just got a brochure today on Glazier Clinics new offering. They are taking some of their more popular clinic speakers and hiring them out as "consultants". This way coaches can pay to actually sit down and have "experts" in different aspects of football come to you and your staff and teach you what they know. I wonder if they will come under the same heat that Franklin has come under from some on the board?
BTW I think it is a great idea for all parties involved. I am sure Glazier and the speakers will financially benefit from this, and I am sure that there are coaches and teams who would love to have such access to this information.

They have a list of some pretty good ones that are offering their services. I was interested, but we couldn't afford it. I would bet many programs would have no problems with the costs though.

I would bet many programs would have no problems with the costs though. hey, wait a minute.....am I just too cynical, or doesn't that kind of make a circle-logic there? If you can't afford these consultants, then chances are your program isn't too great to begin with and their impact may not be really felt. If you CAN afford these consultants, then chances are your program IS in good shape and the little tweaks these guys would offer will appear magnified (since we brought in Bob Burns, our program has improved 200%). So, you can turn around and say, that hiring "consultants" works....just look at the data. I have no problem with this, though.

No no no.... We just can't fundraise and don't have a booster club. We get enough money to purchase equipment and operate. We also are able to get to clinics. We just don't have $2000 laying around.
You can be successful without money.
An example of going through this program would be to bring in someone like Wes Elrod. He's out of state. I can't just take a day to go meet him. But for someone looking to open up their Wing-T a day or two one on one with him could be really beneficial.

We just had Chuck Peterson here and he allowed us to bring in other high school staffs to help cover the cost. It cost us only 300.00 plus my time and gas to pick him up and bring him back to the air port. Great investment.

Get a boosters club, to not is a sin......Parents will pay..... Guys the money is out there, It is up to you to go find it....... We've had this discussion before. Small schools in small communities are a bit different. If we had a booster club there would be about 3 guys in town that got slammed all the time for money. It's not fair to those people. Our school takes care of us. We typically end the year around 6-3. Would an extra $5000 change that? I highly doubt it. We have 2 laptops, new weight equipment, endzone cam, 5-10 new helmets and shoulder pads every year, gator for the managers to drive, enough dummies and cones, video editing software, an extra booth camera. What is a booster club going to do that will help us win games? On the same note, without a booster club I don't have to worry about community members who feel they have a stake in our program. My job is protected. I have the say on where money goes in our program. LIFE IS GOOD!
