I would like to use the Deer Hunter Game for my 3rd and 4th grade team. i hope u guys can help me with a few questions i have about the game.
1. Are Hunters stationary? are mobile 2. How to you pick your hunters and deer? Do you use younger hunters? 3. How do you prevent all hunters focusing on i player, if this happened you could not get a true gauge of who is the speedy guys. 4. Any other details would be appreciated!!!!

I've done this several times and it works pretty well. Use Nerf balls, get 3 hunters, and let them go. If they gang up, kid by kid, that shows organization. The last 3-5 kids standing are usually your better athletes. keep the area confined, keep the helmets on if you are not in pads, and let them go. Natural selection will show its ugly head very soon. The kids have always enjoyed it.

Stationary? No, the whole idea is to see how they move, drop hips, accelerrate Doesnt matter who hunters are No rules, who cares if 4 hunters go after 1 kid- I will get to see how that 1 kid moves

Duece,
It helps to evaluate your quick elusive kids from the not so quick kids. I had one kid one year didn't even look very elusive was typically last in this drill. I gave him the ball next game he rumbled for 60 yards. Just cone an area off 20x20 or smaller depending on team size (# of kids) then get 3 or 4 Nerf balls and turn the 3-4 kids (deer hunters) loose to throw the Nerf balls at the other kids (deer). once they are hit they are out. typically your fasted, quickest and most elusive kid will be one of the last. I will typically let every kid get a chance to be the deer hunter. kids eat it up. good conditioning for skill kids but for the line they are out so quick it doesn't help with that. just my experience. hope that helps.

Did we do it wrong when we used inflated balls instead of foam rubber ones? It's not as if we were using baseballs or lacrosse or cricket balls!
