Love that Horn Frog, Tog!!! And that SMU Mustang looks like he's enjoying life BEFORE his 1985 NCAA "DEATH SENTENCE".....I grew in a Big 8 environment. Dad is from Oklahoma, but I worshipped Tom Osborne(still do).

Big-8, which, for the most part, was OU vs. Nebraska on the friday after Thanksgiving. Splitting up rivalries is the only bad aspect of the new Big 12.

i can remember some purists from "up north" that kicked & screamed when the big-8 took on some of the "lesser" teams from the swc. it's been 10 years of the big-12...think those same people still feel the merger was a bad idea? what would be big-8 be today?

While I was playing we switched from the SWC to the Big 12. I have my jerseys from the last and first years of the conferences with the patches on them. I'll keep those forever. In class friday I mentioned the SWC and my kids had no idea what I was talking about. Had my first taste of feeling old.

Started life in Big Ten country and rooted for Michigan. Moved to Virginia just before high school. If it wasn't so darn cold I would have played baseball at Michigan but turned them down to stay where I thought it was warmer...Blacksburg VA is not much warmer durning baseball season!!!

I grew up on the Oklahoma - Kansas line only 40 miles to Texas, so I grew up with both the big 8 and the SWC now combined into the Big 12.
