You face a team in a Pro Gun divide, TE flexed, who do you have the LB's Key out of a 4-3 in cover 2 or 4?
outside backers cross read backs? Mike on QB to flow Read Linemen Only? Flow Only? Low beams/High beams.........Linemen to flow?

Gun Zone teams are a beach to defend and coach a defense...they have given us some fits COACHING it up when we've faced teams outside of the state that run it (no one in our conference runs the gun ZONE - though there are plenty that do run Gun and spread)
If we're playing C2 / C4, we're walking that Sam out inside the flex Y
We teach our backers from day one to read flow until a lineman key gives us a different 'signal'.
vs spread; OLB - read Near back to EMOL. MLB - read QB through guards
We feel that the more you leave yourself 'unprotected' (less linemen , 1 back) the less you can do INSIDE. If your front 4 can't cause many problems, then it really doesn't matter what you do.

Read gaurds they always take you to the play. Running backs will lie, and so will the quaterback, but the gaurds very rarely lie. They usally take you to the play.
