Don't know if there are many Dawg fans in here, but check out this video clip of Herschel Walker, back in the early 80's. In college he was clearly a man playing among boys. For those who don't know, the guy he runs over in the Tennessee game (#40) is Bill Bates, longtime Dallas Cowboy (and a pretty tough dude). That play is probably the most famous play in Georgia history. Make sure you have the sound up so you can hear Larry Munson go nuts... www.nmi.uga.edu/georgiadogs/Georgia_Highlights/walker.ram

when I was down innashville tenn(I am a midwest guy, aka a northerner, even though my family refused to fight in the civil war. it is a german distrust of government thing. so we were actually on the side of the south. ) they has a special on georgia football.
they had a round table of fromer players and they were selling a 5 or 6 hr video series on the history of georgia football.
it was chalked full of high lights. terry hoag I remember was there as was the qb who threw for a lot of yards. he might be the georgia football career passing leader. he talked about his time there.
it was interesting.

Airman,
Yeah here in the deep south, those types of videos are huge. I know that Alabama, Georgia, Auburn and Tennessee all have a "the best of" video. They usually run advertisements for them all through out the summer as the season nears. It is really neat hearing all the stories from the older coaches and players.
I haven't seen the Georgia video, but the QB you are talking about is probably Eric Zeier.
Deep southern college football just has a certain mystique that can't be explained in words. Not that it is any better than college ball anywhere else in the country, but the people down here live, eat and breathe college football.
The day my youngest son was born back in December, my wife, son and I went later that morning to the nursery to see him. There was about 9 babies total in the nursery and 7 of them (my son included) had little baby beanies on that had a college football team's logo on it. You gotta love that.

one of the all time greats in college...claims to never lift...a sit up adn push ups junkie ...fun to watch in the USFL and also with the eagles and cowboys a bit. You are right...according to the book "Glory, Glory" which has a whole chapter covering the recruiting and freshman year of Herschel Walker, he says all he ever did strength wise was push ups/sit ups...for speed he ran across the dusty crop fields of Johnson county, GA barefoot...and his diet consisted of gatorade and hamburgers. He was just a genetic freak. He claims he came extremely close to going to Southern Cal and was so frustrated with all of the recruiters that he strongly considered not playing football at all and just joining the Marines!
