I have a lot of respect for Coach Kill, but I'm surprised he's leaving Southern for this job. I know there's a difference in level, but he's leaving the more talented team!!

what system is he know for running? is he a defensive or offensive specialist? Spread, power guy or what? I really don't know this guy, but I am always willing to learn what he is teaching.

This will be a very vague description, but...he's known for a power running game. A lot of two TE I stuff, I believe. This past season, though, SIU spread it out more, but I don't think that was necessarily a change in philosophy. I think he just had a better QB than he's accumstomed to.

NIU has much more talent, they were just riddled with injuries this year.

Awesome coach...went with some of my guys to their Lineman camp and 7-on-7 stuff last season. He and his staff have always been available. To see how he and his staff have changed the culture of SIU football over the last few years has been amazing.

Great coach and a great man. I am sad to see him go. All of this was kind of sudden for the folks in this area. Heck everyone here thought he was going to end up at Colorado State. Any way does anyone know if he is taking coaches with him? They have always been kind and helpful to talk to.

If I'm not mistaken he has had his DC with him since Saginaw Valley which was his first HC position. He is a great coach I remember when he was an assistant at Pitt State in Pittsburg, KS.

Agree with all of that. The one year I was at their team camp, our program was installing a brand new offense so we were anxious to look at tape right after the last practice of the first day ended. They made all of their film equipment available to us. It was awesome!!
