Do any of you have a team motto or saying you chant on breakdowns as a team?
What about position break downs?
I have heard teams sing their fight song after games, and others have a chant or motto each year that they use to break down after games. Just looking for ideas, we are thinking of doing something like this next year.

After every game we win we go to the goalpost to our left of the bench and circle up and the kids hold their helmets up and say " O' Doyle Rules" Thank you Billy Madison (Adam Sandler)

We did a 'chant' that carries with the kids from Fresh - Vars....
They would get together and call and response -
"DC" (school initials)
followed by, "You Know!"
a form of 'representing'...........I guess

Our team breaks with "Dome Time".......the last two rounds of state playoffs are in the metrodome.

Here are a couple of mottos that go on our team T shirts as well.
O.B.O.S.O.T.O.G.T.W.W.W.B.C
One Body One Soul One Team One Goal Those Who Work Will Be Champions.
"Fighting Arrogance With Servant Leadership"

We get together and 1 guy leads the chant with a 1-2-3 the team yells out "Uso" (which is brother in samoan) then they all double clap there thights and finish with a long loud "Ooooooooooooh"

Not so much of a chant, more like a prayer, but it sure gets everyone FIRED UP  ; We like to call it our pre game team prayer. I lead it, and everyone repeats after me. It goes like this: Lord we thank you for this day (pause everyone repeats) Grant us guidance in our play (pause everyone repeats) give us strength in our hands and hearts (pause everyone repeats) to play the fair sportsmen part.... (pause everyone repeats) COURAGE.....(pause everyone repeats) PRIDE...(pause everyone repeats) SELF ESTEEM...(pause everyone repeats) for our Pioneer football team... TEAM pride on me, TEAM pride on 3 1...... 2........ 3..... TEAM PRIDE... It gives me the chills... just typing it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I do it, I tend to sound like a southern priest!!! The players love it!!! |

We have our motto, which is G.U.T.S. The current head coach, came up with this, please don't laugh...Our mascot is a Gopher. So, Gophers United Together 4 Success. We also do a pregame chant, and I have forgot that. I just know it as No man is an island, then it goes on...
