What should someone seeking a job look for in his HFC? What should you expect from your potential boss? What questions would be good to ask him when interviewing? Along those same lines, what should he do to make HIS expectations clear to you?

get a plan from him...where is he taking the program...get communication, your expectations in writing. find a guy who will answer your emails and phone calls...find a guy who is a student of the game and doesnt think he already knows everything. find someone not to follow, but who will lead. big difference.

Communication skills are a must...if the HC yells when under pressure, or even worse, when not under pressure...then they aren't fit to be a HC. In today's game, relationship management and the ability to communicate are more important thatn Xs and Os.

There isn't a more important quality in this profession than loyalty. If you find a head coach that will back you, no matter what, then you have a very good assistant job.
