Agreed.
American Football Monthly is good not only because of the physical publication, but also because of the access to a lot of back issues for the past few years through their online resources.
A couple of years ago I spent a lot of time going through old issues and printing out articles as they related to different position groups, collected them in binders, and made them available to my coaching staff as resources.
Very good publication.

AFM is better now that they seem to have corrected their publishing problems. For a while they weren't able to print the magazine. I am glad they are back and I look forward to their monthly issues.

The issue with AFM is....it's getting thinner & thinner. Plus, they are about 3 months behind with their on-line issues. I don't think I'm going to renew, unless they will reduce their price.

I agree but I'll still subscribe to AFM. Great publication that has had better days but it is still the best. AFM also has archived issues online and other great materials on the website as well. Another good magazine that has not had an updated issue since June of 2010 is Coaches Choice Football Coach E-Magazine. They had a good run going there for a while and just ran out of steam for some reason. Just set up a user name at their website and you will gain access to all of that material. Good stuff. Hope this helps Coach.

I like the gridiron strategies but very expensive I think.

Join the AFCA. You get two manuals a year plus their bi-monthly magazine "The Extra-Point". Well worth the $60 or so to join, plus you get into the AFCA convention if you can go.
AFM is ok, but to be honest they are not nearly what they used to be. I'm probably not going to renew my subscription whenever it runs out.

Coincidentally, our company did a survey last week asking which magazines coaches subscribe to; 1500 high school coaches responded. Here are the results: Coach & Athletic Director Magazine - 69% Coaching Management - 52% American Football Monthly - 48% Adds up to over 100 as some coaches receive more than one. GQ came out high on the list as well but we discounted it.

I used to subscribe to AFM and enjoyed it but it's a bit of a rip-off for Canadians. Our dollar is at par with the US (give or take a penny) but the subscription cost is $80 for us and $39 for Americans so I never renewed. I can see it being a little more for shipping but certainly it can't cost over $4.00 an issue to ship a scrawny little magazine across the border.
