Gentleman- As both a player and a coach I hate pre game warm ups. If it was up to me we would show up about 5 minutes before kick-off, take a leak, run a lap, and play ball. I am interested to see what some of you are doing and how long does it take you to do it. Right now we go for about an hour that includes both the prayer and the pit stops. Would love to shave some time off.
Thanks again in advance.

Coach I could not agree more. When I was in college we used to call it practice before the game. We always felt exhusted after. I also try and get the kids into school as late as possible for a Saturday game. My old school would have the kids come in for breakfast early which was a great tradition but it led to a lot of down time. We have had times were we just basically showed up took a leak did some stretching and played bc of late bus etc. I do not think it effected us much. I have also heard of coaches having the players out hours before the game first in shorts and tees than game uniforms than full gear. It seemed a little over kill but it worked for them. Tehy would be on the field before the home team arrived to get dressed. The coach thought it gave his team a mental edge to have the other team on the field working before the other team was even dressed.

We have kickers/snappers, etc. go out about an hour before kick-off to warm up. At about 30 minutes prior the whole team goes out and does jacks and cal.....10 minutes worth.....15 minutes worth of warm up and about 5 minutes to get the brainiacs in line for the anthem.

we now come out at 20 minutes, stretch for about 8 of that , do a few individuals for about 5 minutes, and then run through team plays for about 7. Im thinking about cutting it down even shorter.

Specialties come out for about 10 min. Team out- stretch for 7 min., individual drills- about 5... run through 3 min of plays (4 or 5 max).... then go play. We do less than anyone we play.
We (accidentally) went shorter once...the bus driver forgot to go get the second group. By the time they got down to the field, we had time to hurry through stretch, and receive the kickoff. We started at the 1/2 yard line when the ball bounced off our returners face out of bounds.
