Suppose you're in an organiz'n where they let the coaches who'll run the teams choose up sides for their own. Would you ever pick a player whose skills aren't much needed for your own team, to keep that player from a rival's team? Or would you be a sport about it and, say, let the team that has the good receivers also have the good passer?

You're asking if it's OK to pick a kid who won't play as much for you so that another team won't get him? Is that in keeping with the spirit of what youth ball is about?

It's not against the rules, but like many things that aren't expressly forbidden, it would probably still make you a bad person. You would probably be darned to heck for it, sent to spend a long time with Phil, the Prince of Insufficient Light.

I would pick the kids I want or need and not worry about what other teams are doing
