What a couple of weeks for case studies/discussion/second guessing with regards to endgame play.
Patriots vs Colts
LSU vs Ole Miss
Auburn vs Bama
Kansas vs Missou
Coach, I'm not familiar with any of these games. Could you provide us with the details?
Are you serious? Wow...that is something I don't miss. I will try my best to be accurate with the specifics. Please, if anyone has better info correct me.
==============================================
Pats vs Colts. Pats leading colts by 6 with 2:08 remaining. 4th and 2 on their own 28. Pats go for it,attempt a quick out do not get the spot. I believe they also attempted a Pass on 3rd down and it was incomplete. (could be wrong here). Manning leads Colts to TD on the short field and win the game. Mitigating factors: Colts had two 79 yard TD drives that quarter, each taking less than 2 minutes and 5 seconds to complete.

LSU v Ole Miss. --
Trailing 25-17 with 3:32 to play, quarterback Jordan Jefferson led the Tigers to a 10-play, 66-yard scoring drive. Two chances at the 2pt conversion failed. (Same play--fade each time)
LSU recovers onside kick with 1:16 to play.
Tigers complete 1st play for 26 yards to the Rebels' 32, putting the Tigers in field goal range for Josh Jasper, who earlier had kicked a 50-yarder. LSU has either or two time outs remaining.
LSU calls a a pass play, qb takes a sack. I believe Lsu called a time out here. On 2nd down LSU runs a swing screen to the RB, which is defensed well and loses another 6 or 7 yards.
LSU let the clock run down to nine seconds before calling its final timeout.
LSU attempts hail mary and completes to OLE Miss 5 yard line with a second to play. LSU sideline obviously confused, Miles first running up and down sideline kicking his leg, then being seen telling his QB to spike the ball. Clock runs out.

Auburn vs Bama
Not as many details here, but Bama takes lead with 1:24 seconds to go. Malzhan, credited with his invention/execution of the super high tempo offense manages to run just 4 plays in this time frame, the last being a hail mary attempt.

Kansas vs Missou
Not sure of the details so I took from espn.com
scores.espn.go.com/ncf/recap?gameId=293322305I am unsure of the time out situation of either team.
Jacob Branstetter hit a 39-yard field goal with 5:10 left to put Kansas up 39-36, then the Jayhawks forced Missouri to punt.
Starting the drive at its own 3, Kansas opted to pass instead of milking clock. After two failed passes, Brian Coulter and Aldon Smith converged on Reesing in the end zone for a safety to cut Kansas' lead to 39-38. Worse yet, the Jayhawks ran just 14 seconds off the clock, giving Missouri plenty of time to move into position for the winning score.
The Tigers did just that, getting a 27-yard run from Washington to set up Ressel's attempt. He split the uprights
