Our association several years ago mandated the Baden football but we've since regained our senses and returned to a good old Wilson football. As to Reebok I had no idea they even made one (or why they would).

We've got you beat. In our state we have to buy wilson footballs from the state that has a stamp on them. So, you can't even go out on your own and by your footballs.

In Az. each team is given a brand new Wilson GST for each playoff game but we do not have to use them if we choose to use another ball. We hosted our states 1a semi's and finals and two of the state semi finalist teams did not want their Wilson GST so my AD asked if I wanted them- dumb question of course I took them.

In Michigan our association has just adopted a rule that we have to use Rawlings footballs for the playoffs. Any model. I think it is a bunch of crap to limit choice like that. What team is going to want to switch balls come playoff time. We actually use a Rawlings so it won't affect us, but it is still a bunch of communist crap! Especially considering the coaches association had no say in the type of ball, and all the money is going to our state association probably to cover a lawsuit they lost their butt on! Football continues to be their cash cow!

I forgot how much they are, but you can get them cheaper if you went through a sporting goods supplier.

The association told us the contract was to cover catastrophic insurance premium increases but they sought no opinions from the coaches, schools etc. Just took the money and ran. |

Iowa mandates Spalding J5V for playoffs...no version of a practice ball is similar, so we buy game balls at game ball prices for practice too. It is a all a money making scheme IMO.
