Army's uniforms are pretty darn sharp. I love this game for what it stands for.

I'm not sure its a paint job. I think its a screen printed stick on kind of deal. Like on a nylon type of fabric.

Any idea what it says on the pants? Boomer just made a comment about it but they never got back to it.
This game is what it is all about

Any idea what it says on the pants? Boomer just made a comment about it but they never got back to it. This game is what it is all about The pants say "Boots on the ground." This is my favorite game every year. The post-game tradition of listening to both songs brings chills every time. Can you imagine how great it must feel to be on the winning team when the first song is over and you get to sprint over to your side and hear your own?

...and by the way. The Army unis are the coolest I have ever seen. Navy's look good, but they are definitely overshadowed.

uniforms do not win games however. Navy has won like 7 in arow.
While I do not like the NAVY, I do have th cheer for NAVY because there are Marines on the NAVY team.

what how much that helmet paint job cost.. wow.. I'm going to guess that the new uniforms and helmets for each team is coming out of the recruiting budget for each service. As soon as I turned on the game and saw the coaches with the digital camo hats, I said "I've got to get one of those". Couple of mouse clicks later, and it's a done deal. However, as cool as the Army unis are today nothing beats the Jolly Roger on the Navy helmets from Staubach's era.

On the Unis: I couldnt really see them, they blended in to the background too well Like the guys I see in Walmart wearing Cammo t-shirts, bump into them with my cart all the time, because they are cammoflauged, invisible Love Army and Navy, both teams.

Question about Army and Navy...
Do the football players get a height/weight waiver? I'm thinking specifically about some of the Navy linemen who probably wouldn't meet regulation height/weight standards. The Army guys have a bodyfat percentage they have to meet, I think, so it is probably a little easier for them.

All of the services/academies have standards, but I believe they are relaxed during the season. That being said, I'm fairly sure there is not much time after the conclusion of the season to get back to weight.

I have been watching this game for many years as it is one of my favorites. It brings tears to my eyes to watch the players at the end of the game when they sing the alma mater. I have several former players who have played in the game on both sides and they have all told me what a moving experience it is to be at the academy and to play in this game. All have said that it is the highlight of their year. This game is one of the best things about college football and I hope one day to be there in person.

I'm lucky- I've been to the Army-Navy game almost every year since 1997...it is my favorite college football game, and has by far the most moving moment in college sports- the singing of each other's fight songs at the end, regardless of winner. Brings a tear to my eye every time they sing Navy Blue & Gold and rip off a few cannon shots...
If you ever get the chance it is a must see- get there early for the cadet/midshipmen parade into the stadium and all the pagentry...

I believe your right- they have to make weight at certain times throughout their training

I wonder how many hits the Nike site got looking for those jerseys? I have a feeling they will re-coup any money they lost donating them by the amount they will sell.
So if you got complete camo unis for your team would that be an unfair advantage since the other team couldn't see them on the field?
