Of the 32 starting QBs in the NFL (as of this week):
19 are from BCS conference schools 8 are from Division I, non-BCS schools 5 are from Championship Subdivision (Div I-AA) schools
By Subdivision/conference:
BCS ACC.........6 SEC.........5 Pac 10.....3 Big 10......3 Big East...2
Non-BCS C-USA....5 MAC.......1 Sun Belt.1 WAC......1
Div I-AA Big South..........1 Colonial............1 Ivy....................1 Missouri Valley..1 Ohio Valley.......1
C-USA has more starting QBs in the NFL than another other conference except the ACC (Culpepper, Frerotte, Favre, Pennington, Garrard)
Two schools (Purdue and Boston College) have two starting QBs in the NFL (Orton, Brees, and Ryan, Hasselbeck)

I think you have to analyze it a bit more. I thin it depends on what type of offense the schools run and who is the QB coach/OC. Look at some of the OC's and I bet the same ones send multiple QB's into the NFL. I would also imagine that QB's that have the same OC for 4 years are more likely to play NFL then ones with multiple OC's in their career. Just my guess though!

I still think its crazy how Matt Cassel hasn't started a game since HS and make it through USC, went to the NFL, and will get paid 6-8 mill a year after this season is up.

I think success of any sort in the nf is pending a couple of variables. One is who were you were coached by in College. Two is the maturity of that quarterback. Three is who is coaching you in the pros.

I think you have to analyze it a bit more. I certainly agree with this. I just thought it was an interesting look at starting QBs. Off the top of my head, I would not have guessed that over a third of starting QBs came from the ACC/C-USA!
