Quote from Jerry Glanville, current head coach of Portland State U and formerly head coach of Atlanta Falcons and Houston Oilers:
"Football is the greatest game ever invented in the history of the world, provided you're on the winning side. Football is not a lot of fun if you're not winning. You might as well lie down in the road and let people drive over you. You get the same feeling."

I thought his greatest line was to a ref when he was miked on the sideline, "this is the NFL, which stands for; NOT FOR LONG when you make calls like that", or something to that effect....

I think he finished it with something like, "I'll be selling groceries!"
Good stuff.

I remember Glanville saying Favre throws the ball so hard that if he threw one through a car wash, it wouldn't get wet.
Can't believe that guy is a head coach.
favre tells stories about how when he was in Atlanta, Glanville would bet guys $100 Favre could throw a football into the 2nd deck of the stadium...and would win.
