Has anyone read My Motion Offense at 16? I have looked for it, but it is only available online, but I don't want to buy it unless I have some insight to see if it is a good read. Also, in regards to this book, I was wondering if anyone can see this as a credible source to use for their team, and then ask at what age did you coaches start scribbling ideas in your head which made you want to become a coach. I imagine the author of this booke, Warren W Erdmann IV, has some good ideas, but how could he know all the intricacies of an offense. I don't mean to discredit the author, because I am kind of jealous, but I was just trying to start a conversation here amongst coaches who have so much experience on every aspect of football. www.amazon.com/My-Motion-Offense-at-16/dp/0595711987

I don't know what age I started scribbling in my head but I can tell you this much, whatever I scribbled at that time was wrong and didn't work the way I thought it would. yeah, but how many books have you sold?

His book isn't "published". It's through a print-on-demand service that resells through amazon. Anyone here could do exactly the same thing with any material they wanted and be "published".

Actually, I can remember doing plays when I was 8 or 9 with various "action figures"...the bigger builds were lineman, the smaller builds backs.
Some of my favorite things were the wishbone offense (triple option..but with base blocking, I didnt understand the veer scheme at 8) . To defend it ..the other action figures would line up in the "defensive bone" . Basically a 7 man front, with the defensive QB tackling the FB... the defensive fullback tackling the QB and the two half packs taking the pitch to their sides.
Pretty damn impressed with myself at that age....what the hell happened to that potential

Pretty much every notebook I ever bought for high school has nothing but Xs and Os scribbled in it... ;D

Warren -
You need some work on your marketing strategy. I highly suggest that you read every post made by Kurt Bryan.

I had to erase 400 pages of doodles in my algerbra book in order to turn it in at the end of the year in HS. At least I used pencil.... Its only gotten worse since then, now my wife hides pens and paper...LOL, so I installed whiteboards in my home office ;D ;D....those of you that have chalked talk with me on the whiteboard/chat section, know that I'm a lost cause.....

In middle school I had a science teacher who saw I had drawn like five pages of plays down instead of notes so he comes over to my desk, picks it up in front of the class, rips it to shreds, and yells at me for like ten minutes.
Well, I got an A in the class anyway, and he was later arrested in an alley for soliciting prostitution. And when they arrested him, he was wearing high heels, stockings, and make-up and lipstick. True story.
I think I came out on the better end of that deal.

I used to pretend that the one girl GI-Joe was in love with me, I was Snake Eyes. And then she would ask me to take off my mask and she would smooch me on the cheek. No, really. I was a complete douche bag. Not much has changed in 30 years.
