Got an ankle sprain on my qb. Dont think its high. Anyone got any ideas how I can get him back for FRi?

ice bath... fill a bucket with ice, then fill it with water til it just covers the ice. 20 minutes at a time.
large amounts of ibuprofen, bottle says only 200mg, but you can go to 1200 fairly safely if he is a big kid and drinks plenty of water. im not a doctor, but i was told this buy a DR.

If this is an injury that is fairly new there's nothing that'll have him anywhere near full speed by Friday- not even close I am afraid. Rep your #2 a ton this week.

with a sprained ankle it has to do more with pain tolerance than anything. My LG/LB has torn ligaments in his ankle but he knows this is his last year so he is just "playing through the pain" Not sure of your offense and if you need your QB to be able to run a lot but he should be able to go just tape it so it cant move and maybe even wear a brace over that. I know that if i was a senior and made playoffs, and i could walk, i would find a way to play.

Coach after the 20 min ice bath put heat on it for 20 then ice for 20 and heat for 20 and so on. Will cause the blood to rush out and then heat rush in fresh blood, this will aid in the healing.

It may sound crazy but horse liniment works really well to help get the swelling down and cut down on the pain. Soak a cloth of some sort and then rub down the ankle with that about 6-7 times a day and then as much as possible before the game. I think you can find it at most drugstores or any type of "farm" store. It smells kind of funny but does work really well. Hope it helps.

Basically if there is still swelling in the ankle then you should avoid any heat and use ice only. If not then the heat treatment after ice is fine, but i would always finish with ice after the heat to avoid the recurrence of any swelling

You are correct, guess in my rush to post yesterday I forgot to mention to ice last to prevent further swelling.

Horse Liniment IS great stuff but a word of caution. If you get that {censored} anywhere near your face prepare to suffer.
Don't ask me how I know just let me say that I would have rather chopped my pinky off.
I wouldn't risk your starter unless he is a senior, last game and know playoffs.
