Our Head Coach became the 3rd coach in the history of our area to reach 200 wins and the 1st small school coach to reach the milestone. The area covers 4 counties and over 30 schools.
Does anybody have ideas on how we can honor him?

Tell him thank you, and carry yourselves on the field and in the community in a respectful manner. Compliments from his peers as to your behavior will be the greatest gift you could ever give.

Work over email to acquire names of past players. Ask the past players to email over some thoughts, comments, stories etc.
Pile them all up, and read bits on pieces at the conclusion of a practice.

Does he want to be "honored"?
I have had the privilege of hearing coaches with similar win totals speak, and about 99.9% are humble men who consistently give all the credit to their assistants and the kids who played for them.
You don't win 200 games by being an arrogant egomaniac.

how about a collage of former teams, big wins, headlines etc. Could this be done at a post season banquet?

Our head coach got his 200th and the AD had a ceremony during pregame. Oh, our coach hated that. Felt it took away from the game completely. We had a get-together after the game at one of the assistants house. We invited all of his former assistants and toasted him on a great job. I know he appreciated that because everyone there was a friend and knew him well. I think something little and private means more than anything (at least with our guy).

Cake and punch!!! Our head coach got a plaque at the end of next home game. The PA announcer read off all his accomplishments. All of his family came out to be with him on the field. The visiting team and coaches stayed on the field to show their respect. It was a real nice moment… and I took down the kicking net.
