We are lifting two days per week during the season. I'm wondering if there is a best two days to lift during the week for a Friday.

This year we are on a new routine. We lift Sat, Mon, Tue, and Wednesday.
Last year we lifted only twice a week and kept it very short. A lot of our kids lost 10-15 lbs during the season. We don't want that to happen this year.

When you have your kids lift, is this in addition to a weights class in school or in stead of a weights class in school? At my school, my DC is one of the weights teacher, I have all of the fb players in his weights classes and he works them pretty well for his 50 minutes Monday through Thursday with Friday being a day to review film. They probably aren't gaining a lot of strength but they are at least maintaining during the season and getting a little stronger. In the offseason I will open up the weight room in the mornings to give these boys another hour of lifting four times a week while not keeping my kids from playing any other sports.

We don't want that to happen this year. Be careful that you don't overtrain. Overtraining will cause more problems then losing 10-15 lbs. Our kids lose weight as well, but we prefer that they maintain or gain strength during season. We lift 2 days a week with high intensity, low volume.

Varsity lifts on Mondays and Wednesdays. It's a station workout. Lasts 38 minutes. You have a partner to spot you and you go around one time then flip it over.
JV does the same thing on Tuesday and Thursdays.

We start at 7:30 am. What...you guys have to get up and milk the chickens or something? we lift and meet in the morning. kids were in 7 am mon, 7:45 wed and 8 am today. We live in the richest county in the country w/ a population over 125,000. the elementary starts at 7:20. I think they do this for two reasons #1 (the bs reason) is supposedly teens learn better when they sleep late. #2 both parents have to work to afford their 500,000 condo's and beamers. they drop the kids off to elemnetary and the hs kids either arrive early or can get the bus themselves. one of my students drives a mint 67 mustang that I might have to hotwire

In-season we lift twice a week on Monday and Thursday for a Friday game. We're BFS so Monday will be Bench and Squat and Thursday is Towel Bench and Box Squat.
