whoops!was cruising along great with our change to Gun Triple this year thanks to all the good stuff i've learned on this site and DEMEO clinic.but practiced in the rain today and was a rude awakening and bad for my blood pressure.any tricks to getting that wet ball up to my QB?tried the "point up method" and the kids hands were too small. i know how to teach both methods of the snap and the kids were doing great until the rain hit.i know UC snap is still no gaurantee in the rain but now i'm shi--ing my pants.otherwise, i was thinking i was a genius for switching to GUN Triple cause we were killin it.

The only advice I can offer is to just keep practicing it. IMO, there really is no "rain answer". I would even have the center drop a ball into a bucket of water or something during prepractice (or even PE class if possible) when the weather isn't rainy.

we used to practice with a bucket of mud and dip the balls in there. the kids hated it but we always enjoyed the "advantage" when it rained. I don't know if it really worked but the kids thought so

#1, use good footballs with grip. #2, have plenty of spare, dry footballs to use. #3, make sure your center, QB and the REF has a towel. practice with a wet ball, its kind of like throwing without laces, its hard to do until you practice it alot.

Use approved synthetic balls, think of the synthetic covered balls the ST5 (foam underlay soft touch) or Baden are the best although the Nike is decent. In fact as the hands prune the synthetic balls actually get tacky. We use synthetic footballs to practice in the wet weather and with our bucket water on Wednesdays. The older and more sun bleached or scuffed the ball is the tackier it gets.
Best of luck IMO The gun snap is much easier to hand in rain than under center.
Best of luck in the coming typhoon season.
