Is it possible to have a Twins Right formation along with the TE on the right. I know the TE can not release for a pass but lets say i wanted to start off with a sweep. I have never seen it before just wasn't positive i could do that.
thanks

As long as you have 7 men on the LOS it's all good.
----------------T--G--C--G--T--TE-----------------SE -------------SB------QB-------------------------WR ----------------------FB- ----------------------TB
So in this case the left tackle would be eligible and the 'TE' would not be.

Thank you, this could make for a pretty good trick play for an unprepared team. What play would you call in with this formation.
'Twins R 28 fake tackle out" and have my FB kick out the DT. or have my slot WR come in motion and help with the kick out of the end. I don't know, I will have to think about it.
Thanks for the reply.

Ooops. I just realized that I gave you one two many backfielders. You can't have a FB and TB there, only one of those. Or remove the slotback.
Sorry.

But if I lived in Canada wouldn't I be coaching Hockey?

Does the tackle have to make himself known as an eligible receiver prior to the play or will the ref pickup on it.
thx.

In Federation rules the tackle does not have to report but, he is only eligible if he has a number from 1 - 49 or 80 - 99. Of the 7 on the LOS, five have to have numbers from 50 - 79 and are not eligible receivers regardless of where on the LOS they line up.

This is true for high school but our youth league has addendum's to the Fed rules that allow for any number on the LOS. So in that case he could be wearing number 58 or 75 and still be eligible in our league.
