I was told by my Riddell guy that if I were to keep my rejects, that I should make them unusable such as cutting them in half for a plaque or some other means of making sure NO ONE ever uses it.. because I could be liable.. Well.. last night I happen upon this auction on ebay. cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140247313943&_trksid=p2761.l1259It clearly states that the helmets have been rejected and that they would be great for refurbishing. I emailed the person stating my concern.. and received a response that they were a lawyer and that if they were to sell me a car and I wrecked it, then they would not be responsible.. and that this is no different. How do you feel about this? Highly irresponsible act?? Or no big deal?

I do see his point. You could be selling them on ebay for people to use as relics or plaques. Though it makes me really nervous and I don't think I would personally sell them. Too much to lose in the instance the legal chips didn't fall your way or too much to lose if you simply got sued.

I guess it would be similar to those kids costume helmets that have the sticker "Not for full contact use".
It does state in his ad that they are " TWO rejected RIDDELL FOOTBALL HELMETS (VSR4)"
Like they say, it always comes down to "Buyer beware!"
