Happy Father's day to all! Let's hear some father son stories, both as coaches or as a coach and player.

to keep football related...
not on Father's day, but this week my 2 yr old son is watching Thomas (the tank engine) while I'm watching a fb game on the laptop, he looks over and see the game... he comes over and sits in my lap and watches the FOOTBALL game instead of THOMAS...

What the heck am I doing wrong. My 4 year old would never choose football over Thomas and his first word was "Flower". Should I be worried? ;D
He does love Notre Dame though, So I cant beat that. And at a Notre Dame USC pep rally he told Martin Short that he is going to Notre Dame and playing football.
Happy Fathers Day!

My oldest, 7, says to me today. "Dad, I want you, me, and Matthew (my 6 year old) to play a game of Madden for Father's Day".
After I wiped my tears.....I spanked both of them in Madden.

I was on the phone with our OC today and my 1 year old daughter was in the room. We are installing the wing-t this summer and I asked him what he wanted our best series to be. My daughter who can only say 3 words goes "Buck Buck Buck" he heard her over the phone and just about pi$$ed himself laughing. She's a keeper.

Hahahahaha those are all great stories. I'm 21 and don't have a child but Eagles vs Giants replay was on NFL Network today so we watched the Giants survive a scare and ate pizza.

Received a card from one of my senior linemen whom I have coached since 7th grade thanking me for being there for him, closest thing I have to a son, closest thing he's had to a dad. Makes all the BS worth it....

Had a catch in the backyard and went over belly footwork for the FB with the 9 year old. Then took the two oldest (13 year old girl and 9 year old boy) fishing. My son caught the world's smallest largemouth, it's mouth was as big as it was long! Then my daughter caught one that was about 1/2 inch larger. We had a huge laugh at the size of the fish and sang "Down by the Bay" about 25,000 different ways.

My wife and her family have this thing with kids...to get them to raise their hands...you know, to put a shirt on them, put their kid-seat tray on, etc. They would say, "Soooo big" and try to get him to raise his hands. I said no no no...lets go with "TOUCHDOWN!!!" So, now everytime you yell TOUCHDOWN around my 16 month old, his arms immediately raise to the sky

My oldest son graduated a few weeks ago; he was our starting QB for three years and is off to college next year to begin work on a degree and to play a little DB. He helped his team place third in the state track meet a few weeks ago, and his final moments of high school athletic competition was to fall on the last hurdle of the 300 hurdle final at the state meet. Was proud of him - no "poor me" or ranting, just disappointment that he couldn't do a bit more for the team. It has been a great joy to coach him, and you guys with kids coming up, savor the moments.

First fathers day this year, and I am training my little girl, she will be 5 months on Wednesday, she is an absolute sports freak already.
She doesn't like cartoons, she watches sportscenter, and if any game (football, softball, baseball and basketball) is on, she will watch it.
I have some football games on DVR and play them when she is cranky, she usually stops screaming and watches the games.
She watched the womens college world series, and loved it, she had "bug eyes" while they were playing. If you turned her away from the TV she would stretch her neck to try and find it. Love her.
Her mom likes that she is interested in sports as well as since she played VB and softball in college.
