Planning one for the end of school year. Any thoughts? Anyone have a sample pledge sheet? How about time frame...how long to get pledges, when to collect money, etc. Any help would be great. Thanks.

I ran a very successful liftathon for a few years. I just made the pledge sheet on Excel and put our logo on it. I had a meeting and the captains drafted the rest of hte team into squads. Then each squad competed to raise the most money. Winning squad got a pizza party at lunch. We also had t-shirt, sweats, and shorts for those who raised "x" amount of money. We got great deals on the apparel so our profits were still quite high. Also the top 10 money kids got to get equipment early. If we did the the event on Friday after school I passed out the sheets the week before and wanted all the money in by the following Friday. So it lasted no more than 2 weeks from start to finish.

I just completed a Lift-A-Thon. We only had 28 players attend because of Spring sports but we raised about $3500. It was very simple. I gave them 2 weeks after the actual day to hand in all of there sponsor donations. Not a lot of work at all for the coaches and the kids really enjoyed it. It was the first time we ever did it and we will continue to in the future.
