One of the nice offshoots of this board, is also getting to read several of the marvelous Blog sites by various contributors on this board.
Some of the Bloggers got me thinking about the most important Five or Ten things overall to Rank...if I had to Keep them for a Rainy Day in order to keep things Good:
1. Family:...it is true at almost every turn - Blood is thicker than water, but not always
2. Faith:...to each their own but I know there is something far more powerful, wise and forgiving than us
3. Friends:...Sometimes even closer than family members
4. Football:...nuff said
5. Fishing:...I have fished many outstanding Rivers in California, some in Montana & Oregon, and caught Brook Trout in Pennsylvania. Also caught Striped Bass and Salmon in the Pacific Ocean, and landed keepers in Lake Shasta. Lest I not forget catching snapper and barracuda in the Florida Keys, and bagging a 22-lb. Permit on a live Crab, and losing that Big Tarpon at the side of the boat.
BUT, by far the best. For the past 11 years we have retreated to the BEST Trout River on the West Coast to land HUGE Rainbow Trout on nasty-wiggling Crawdad Lures. We always go the week before Training Camp begins to unwind before the football Marathon commences. Last summer my 12-year old son landed a bunch of Hogzillas, but thought he had a Snag, and ten minutes later pulled out a 19-inch Rainbow.
* I look at that picture of him smiling and holding up that fish everyday. Memory of a lifetime and can't wait to get back up there.
