How are yall using this. We are going to start next year. I got Pro Scout the week the season started and we didn't have time to use it. My CPU at home has everything needed except the converter. Do you need the converter. Also can you load it to video tapes or do you just burn DVD's with it?

ND Coach can vouch for this. This was a speech by my HS football coach at half when I was playing. We were getting beat like 21-0 to a team we should were even with. Coach comes in and starts talking about how he couldn't sleep the night before and he turned on the tv. He started watching a show about guys in prison being "cornholed". He said that the inmates started to accept and ended up enjoying it. We started looking at each other were like what the heck. He goes well men thats whats happening here tonight your getting "cornholed". And you like it. He says "they are greasing you up and packing your sh** and you like it". We were like is he really saying this. Somehow it kind of worked. We go out and played great in the second half and lost 27-28, probably would have won had I not thrown an int late in the game. We still laugh about his cornhole speech.

I have seen a lot of people do the Hold the Rope as there motto for the season. We used it last year for our last game which decided if we came in 2nd or 3rd.
Keep these coming I really like reading these.

In Mississippi the Teachers pay scale is not that great, but coaches get ok supplements. I am the DC and will get 2,500 on top of my 1,500 for being varsity assistant. Then if you coach jr.high tack on 700-1,000 somewhere in there. But each coach on staff gets 20 extra days contract. Most coaches are on a 207 instead of a 187. Now the head coach gets 40, I think and a 4 or 5 supplement. I have never taught more then 4 classes.

School gives the assistants 20 extra days on our contracts. So I'm up there 3 days week for about 3 hrs. Our head coach gets like 40 extra days

We did basically the same stuff, but we also mixed in a punt, pass, and kick competition. This helped us identify our kickers.
To mix it up we did a relay race and they had to lay out and tackle the dummy. They love it.

Do you have a student trainer that tapes practices or is it one of the coaches?

I know he's not real popular right now, but Gary Barnett's "High Hopes: Taking The Purple to Pasadena" is interesting reading on motivation and organization in building a program. great book.

I coach in Mississippi and I would say about 85-90% of our schools have an athletic period. We meet everyday during 7th period. During the season we lift, meet, start practice then. I can't imagine not having an athletic period. Now the schools that are on block schedule have it really good. They get there athletes for 90 minutes everyday. Imagine what you could get done in 90 minutes everyday.
