After the game last night, I wanted to see how the Dennis Dixon injury would change the way people feel about the front-runners for the Heisman.
I used the other list we had going before, but removed the people with 0 votes, and added the people who were brought up as a ?, as to why they weren't on there.

Invitations 1. Dorsey 2. Tebow 3. McFadden-LSU game will be huge for his chances 4. Winner of MU/KU Reesing or Daniel Brophy, can you get those pictures to slow down? DANG, just picked three dudes from the SEC and I was bagging on them earlier! Freakin media has everyone brainwashed. Coachdawhip, no comments from you. What about Rice from Rutgers, only saw them play once this year?

While I love Dorsey, I still say Dixon and then Tebow, last night confirmed how important he was 2 his team.

If Florida loses the SEC Championship to LSU, I think voters would have a difficult time explaining how Tebow, despite his monster stats, should win the Heisman on a 4 loss Florida team.

Florida has to have a lot to happen before they even make it to the SEC Championship. Tennessee controls its destiny(Vandy and Kentucky), and then GA has the upperhand over UF, Florida is in a hard spot to get to the SEC championship game. Don't look for them to play LSU again, and if UT or UGA play LSU it will be closer than expected.

I agree that Tebow has been very impressive this year, but I have a difficult time seeing how the QB of the third place team in the SEC East should win the Heisman because he has monster stats.
If monster stats should win you the Heisman, what about Colt Brennan? Graham Harrell? Chase Daniel?
I also hate the "system" quarterback argument. If Tebow isn't a system quarterback too, I don't know who else is.

I agree that Tebow has been very impressive this year, but I have a difficult time seeing how the QB of the third place team in the SEC East should win the Heisman because he has monster stats. If Tebow isn't on that team, they aren't even third place. He IS the Florida offense. If monster stats should win you the Heisman, what about Colt Brennan? Graham Harrell? Chase Daniel? Colt Brennen? The guy who plays at midnight and no one ever sees play unless they have TiVo? ;D The guy who plays on the team with the WEAKEST strength of schedule in D-IA (or whatever it is called now)? Harrell and Daniel...have had tremendous seasons, no doubt. Problem with those two guys, I think, is the same problem that Brennen has, although to a lesser extent. They are both guys who didn't have a huge amount of hype before the season and they play in a conference that is, at best, slightly better than the Big Ten. I also hate the "system" quarterback argument. If Tebow isn't a system quarterback too, I don't know who else is. So what? How many Heisman winners have been "system" players? How many guys have won the award and then gone on to mediocre or even completely forgettable NFL careers?

A lot of system players have won the heisman, Crouch (Option), Hybl (Spread), amongst others, (as previously stated) I really think that voters have lost sight of who the award goes to. It is supposed to go to the BEST player in college football...getting the Heisman doesn't anywhere close relate to being a good NFL player. Who is the best player? McFadden?, Tebow?, Rice?, Jackson?, Dixon?, Slaton?, White?, Dorsey?

i think the west virginia duo is good even tho im a rutgers fan
but tim tebow man,,, hes putting up stats that i could only put up in madden he is putting numbers up that high school teams put up combine in a whole year by himself but if he does lose to Lsu he shouldnt win the trophy
i always liked mike hart but he is surrounded by super people in this race
but i think we should give it to glen dorsey how awesome would it be to see a d-lineman win it especially being a d-line myself so yea my vote is either gunna go 2 Tebow if they beat LSU or i think pat white ill vote for

as evidenced on Thursday night, the loss of Dennis Dixon had more effect than OU losing Bradford did... if the Heisman goes to the best NFL prospect, then I would pick Dorsey... if its the best college football player I would say that Dixon's impact is extreme and underrated... of course he is a bright as Vince Young's Wonderlick scores, but who cares right?

For those of you who have not had a chance to watch Daniel or Reesing turn to ABC saturday night at 7. Arrowhead will be rocking! Should be a great football game.
