Maybe I am old fashioned and all but wouldn't the HC just say ummmmm we had a kid finish second in the heisman this year and won the SEC thank you and good day folks.
The best football coach I have even been around in my life use to say the game hasn't changed, you still block and tackle, the kids haven't changed, they still act the same now as they did then, its the parents who are f'ing everything up now!

What kind of AD lets parents run his program?! At the major college level no less!

What kind of AD lets parents run his program?! At the major college level no less! How is he letting the parents run the program? By answering there questions and telling them that HDN has complete control of the direction of the team? I'm confused. As for the matchup itself. Wisconsin always matches up well against SEC opponents because they are an SEC like school. They like to run the ball, sometimes are sketchy in pass defense, likes big ole boys on the line, and usually have a pretty good rush defense.

I personally know nothing about their recruiting promises or if they've "broken" them. But, they won 10 games this year in the SEC and played for the SEC title. What I do know is that no matter what I had said or done, I am not going to justify my offense to any parents; period. Plus, these kidsd are freshman, in two years maybe Arkansas will be putting the ball up 50 times a game; little bit premature. To me, the players I recuited just showed me that they care nothing for the Arkansas program, they're only concerned with their numbers and can transfer to a school that has an offense that's "better fit for them"

Just a thought. If I remember correctly they attempted to put in the Malzahn offense and got blown out by USC. Then they have changed over the course of the season into what has worked for them. These kids are freshman and their parents expected the entire philosophy of the program to change to suit them??? Seems very pretentious to me. I would venture to guess that as Mustain grows into the starter they will use more and more of the system from Malzahn however. It is apparent that Mustain is not the second coming just yet as they have made three QB changes this year. Mom and Dad need to go home and let their 18 year old young men handle their business.

No need to be confused. If he is telling the parents that the HC is in charge than that is a good thing. (sportsline.com) "Beck Campbell, Mustain's mother, said in a statement that she discussed concerns about her son's future as a football player. Campbell said she did not seek promises or guarantees, and that playing time was not an issue. "It was agreed by all parties involved that the head coach has the valid right to determine the direction of the program and the manner in which the team would develop," she said."

So how do these guys fit in now with the rest of the team? Can you imagine having to explain to your teammates why your mommy and daddy met with the AD to complain about your playing time and the offense that is being used? I can't imagine what the other guys on the team must think about these guys.

spoiled lil brats is what we would have thought about them. the fact that we are even discussing this makes me sick...head football coach is boss, his way or no way, and if u don't like it hit the bricks fellas.
guess in my mind it is that simple.

I sure am glad the parents agreed on that!!! What would have happened had they NOT agreed on that? The statement still implies that the parents think they are in the driver's seat. The head coach is in charge b/c they said so.
I do not know Houston Nutt, but I know several that do from his days at Murray State. They think he is a fine man, and that his "downfall" is his honesty. You may disagree, so don't kill the messenger.

Oh, well that was mighty big of them- I'm sure Houston Nutt appreciates it.. LOL. I'm soooo glad they just gave him an extension.
