Good Luck to everyone, I like to think we help each other out. Where I coach in New York we do not even start doubles until Monday. To think some of you are already playing games, blows my mind. I was wondering if anybody plays each other on this forum. Well anyhow good luck to all. Put a hat on somebody!!!

We had our controlled scrimmage Friday night. 60 total plays of offense and 60 of defense. Our varsity played the first 40, and we had the youngsters go the last 20. We scored twice and they scored once, this was varsity, don't really remember the JV. We couldn't run the ball worth crap. We threw the ball pretty well, that's how we gained yards and scored, it starts for real on the 25th, conference, non-region game.....

We had our first non-conference game this last friday. We ended up winning 34-21. We had a lot of problems on Special Teams, but our Offense & Defense played well.

We won our Kickoff Classic 49-7. Up 42 zip at half. Starters never saw the field in the second half. First play was a 73 yard Fly Sweep for a TD. Fullback had 3 carries for 3 TD in the first half. QB was 4/6 with 2 TD. About 20 kids had 2 or more tackles or assists. Great way to start the season. We play a much tougher team this week but If we play just as hard I feel we will win. Good Luck to all as your season gets under way!

We had our first scrimmage Friday. Overall it went well. We had some hiccups on defense especially in pass drops and tackling but didn't play badly overall. The main bright spot was the OL, which is young and a major worry. If we continue to improve we have chance to be OK.

We will have our first control scrimmage this coming Friday. Good luck to everyone this coming season. Coach Miller, if your offense and defense are clicking pretty good I would spend more time on special teams during practice. Coach Brmurf, It is the first game of the season, keep your head up and go get a victory.
Enjoy

Won our first game 40-0 beating a team that we had only beaten once before in the previous 12 years.
Gun Veer was firing (Tog's jet look with veer was awesome).
Had our first shutout and KOR for a TD in 3 years.

We took one on the chin Friday night. Lost 21-7. All manner of missed assignments on the O-line. Got to figure out how to get 'em to come ready to play. Been a tough weekend, but the best part is we get to start all over again this week. Could be worse, I could have a real job!

We too had our first controlled scrimmage over the weekend. We ended up winning 21-14 and looked pretty good for our first scrimmage. Our new defense (3-5) looked extremely well and our offense looked pretty decent but we still have some things to work on. The defense was relentless and only gave up 2 extended drives and one big play for a touchdown (On a wheel. The corner played the post and opened himself up to the wheel). On offense we had 57 plays with a total of 448 yards of offense. I am disappointed with the lack of big plays and the inability to score. Overall I was glad with the performance but we still have a lot to work on. Good luck to the rest of you.
Sincerely, Coach D

Had our first scrimmage Saturday. Tied 6 - 6 (no special teams) Our defense played extremely well, they didn't give up a score and except for two big pass plays pretty much kept a good offensive team under wraps. Offensively we struggled running the ball, ISO's & Powers worked ok, but really struggled with out option.
Good luck this year to everyone!

Had our scrimmage this past Thursday. Went toe to toe with what some polls have labeled as the preseason #1 for our state. Pretty surprised at how well we played. Hiccups on offense, but minor assignment and footwork issues(fixable this week) as opposed to not big, fast or strong enough issues (which can't be fixed until the off-season). D held them scoreless and they averaged 38 a game last year. Looking forward to our first game this Friday with a team that beat us in a thriller last year.
