Have known of coaches including a "theme of the week" for each week of the season. Sometimes included as part of the scouting report, or the Monday orientation. Any of y'all do this? If so, what are some of the "themes" you've used? Thanks

WE have used "Finish" and "Go the Distance" before. I will dig out some of the ones we have used and post them. One week we showed a clip from Braveheart and tied that in to standing tough together instead of running in the face of adversity.

Plenty of themes with Biblical references including:
I Samuel 17:40 - David chose 5 smooth stones from the stream and put them in the pouch of his shepards bag. The theme here is David was "prepared" as Goliath also had 4 brothers... hence the 5 stones.
Ephesians 6:14-18 is a great verse as it lists metaphorically, almost every piece of football equipment that is worn including the belt of truth... the breastplate (shoulder pads) of righteousness... your feet fitted with -- the gospel of peace... the shield of faith... the helmet of salvation ... the sword of the spirit...
Ecclesiastes 4:12 -- Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not easily broken. A great one for the importance of team work!
Obviously they are many more examples.

I have used Maxwell's "Qualities of a Teammate" and cover each one of those each week. I have also picked a coaches quote and talked about it during the week.
