Do you film wide or tight from the end zone? We are finally going to be able to film from the end zone this year and I was wondering whether to go wide or tight, any suggestions?

We use tight and film the line. You can't really tell depth of routes and such from the endzone, and sideline is much better for capturing the field. Getting the line is much more effective from this angle. We really like to see alignment and footwork and we don't want to compromise this angle with a wide shot.

We do a tight and a wide, tight for the fronts and line coaches, wide angle for the pretty boys, and the routes and coverages and stuff. I have asked several times if we could get an end zone shot, as I would love to see my OL from the end zone but we dont have a good place to do it, and the tower we had at one time collapsed during a bad storm.

we do a tite, wide, and enzone
this is what i tell the endzone camera guy
set the screen to about 4-5 yards outside the tackles get deep enough to see the linebackers and the backs
when the play starts, slowly zoom out instead of jerking the camera around to follow the action
i want to see the initial steps of the ol, and the alignment of the fronts
then i want the play to get big enough to see what really happens

Exactly our approach TOG. We are a double wing team and it REALLY helps us locate our trouble spots in the run game.

in a perfect world, we would have tight/wide for both sideline & endzone. as it stands, we just have the tight/wide sideline and a tight end zone

What are your endzone camera guys up on? Just curious to see what schools are doing to get up behind the goal post.

Listen to new Arizona State OC who came from Arkansas. He showed some clips of a couple of their play action passes. They had the sideline view, tight endzone, and wide endzone all stacked together, really great stuff. Imagine if you could have all of that, if you do, congrats.
