Excuse my ignorance, but what is the Flexbone and how does it differ from other offenses? Is it an evolvement from the Wishbone......??
In the UK we usually only see Pro style, Wing T and Single back offenses. The only real exception to this is Coventry who are very successful in running the Spread (under center and Shotgun).
Anyway, back to my question. What is the Flexbone? The philosophy, formations, terminology, etc?
I thank you all in advance for your input.
ps. This site is a fantastic!!

The flexbone is the a variation of the wishbone. You have a fullback, two slot backs lined up 1x1 off the tackle and 2 wr. It is currently run by Navy and Air Force and experienced great success at Nebraska in the 90's. It is primarily an option offense but you can run jet sweep or go 4 vertical easily out of it.
