Personally, I think we give too many, but:
Offensive Back of the Year Offensive Lineman of the Year Offensive Receiver of the Year (I think)
Defensive Lineman of the year Linebacker of the year Defensive Back of the year
And, then, overall offensive MVP, overall defensive MVP, and Team MVP and a most improved player.
We also give a leading tackler award and an inspirational player award (named after an alum)
I think these are too many because it gets repetitive--out of all these awards, I think we only had five different kids win them. We vote for them as coaches.

I sometimes think we give too many as well, but when kids come back to us they always thank us for the plaques we give or when we go to graduation parties, our plaques are always on display.
We give
voted on by team.
O MVP D MVP SP T MVP
O MIP D MIP SP T MIP
voted on by coaches.
Courage Award Kid who plays with the most heart, courage and demonstrates true school pride and program pride.
Black Lion Award (See Coach Hugh Wyatt's web site) but kid who demonstrates great leadership on and off the field, quality student, great person, etc....

We only give one individual award given by the coaches for the player with great grades, fantastic technique, quality work ethic, gym rat, and a leader on and off the field. Basically it is for the player that if you had to pick one kid represent your team in every facet of your program.

we've always done (in addition to a team voted Offensive/Defensive/SPT MVP) "Mr.Hustle" Award - not quantified by anything, just voted on by the players as the guy who hustles the most in practice. Probably more esteemed than the MVP stuff.

Red Devil- kind of a best attitud, hard worker, most dedicated kind of award. doesnt have to be good, just the attitude we want our kids to have

None --- Football is the ultimate team game, I don't believe there should be individual awards in such a team oriented sport like football -- guess I'm definately in the minority on this board...
