I just finished reading a very good book, THE BLIND SIDE, by Michael Lewis. It is about Michael Oher, left tackle for Ole Miss. What an incredible story. Not so much a football book but a very interesting look at poverty and opportunity. However, the sub-title is "Evolution of a Game," and the book does talk about how and why the left tackle has become so important in the NFL, starting with Lawrence Taylor breaking Joe Theismann's leg on Monday Night Football back in the 80's. Has anyone else read this book? I would encourage you to take a look...a very good read.

I'll second the recommendation. Very good read. Anybody know how Oher is doing at Ole Miss?

olemisssports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=12787&SPID=737&DB_OEM_ID=2600&ATCLID=542695&Q_SEASON=2006According to the website above, he is the #1 OL at Ole Miss and they are expecting great things from him. This kid would make a great Double Wing tight end! More from the Ole Miss website: As a senior, was credited with 130 "pancake" blocks, allowing no sacks, and grading out at 90 percent ... Didn't allow a sack in his two years and had 200 "pancakes" and an 85 percent grade ... Helped lead Briarcrest to 10-3 record and 2004 state championship ... Earned two letters in football ... Coached in high school by Hugh Freeze ... Also lettered twice in basketball and twice in track ... Basketball team went 27-6 in 2004, winning district championship ... Averaged 22 points and 10 rebounds in basketball, earning All-State honors as well as making the Sun Coast All-Tourney team ... In track, was state runner-up in discus. A player like that makes a coach look like a genius!
