Hey guys,
Our head coach likes to have us condition our guys by position at the end of practice. My space is semi-limited--maybe 1/4 of the field. What are some of your better conditioning ideas that i could use to have some variation in it for my guys? Looking for any suggestions for things that will really kick their butt.

bear crawl relay races, sled drive competitions, blocking bag relays, grass drills, sprints, pushups, situps, wheel barrow races...

For a fun change of pace game you could play a game of tag. This gets your players running around; they are also working on cutting. Plus it teaches them angles which would be good for defensive player (tackling angles)

What position do you coach? We have done condition by position before and tried to come up with things that would not just get our guys in shape, but also work on some techniques they would use. For example, as an OL guy I would make my guys pull and sprint 10 yards, or pass set, pass set, and sprint 20 yards downfield to cover. Things like that.

I coach the O Line as well. I like your idea of building in football skills as well. Any other thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Another one is something I call Team Take Off, the OL drives the sled around the outside perimeter of the field. First group goes two reps in a row, Two's go one rep, One's are back up for two more. I am trying to think of some others but those I have mentioned are the one's I used to most. I also did Vietnams, belly crawls, bear crawls, and other things like that just for a bit of "toughness"
