We just had one last night...first time ever in this area. It was intense and a great way to display the "new" attitude our new staff is developing.

Great IDEA!
How did it work? Was it under the lights?
That sounds like an awesome idea...what are the particulars?

stackattack, when did you have the kids come back and practice again? When is your second practice of the day? How does it effect your normal practice schedule. Those were my main concerns of doing it, otherwise I think it would be a great idea.

We were gonna do it this year to kick off our camp. Brought it up in spring and kind of planned on it all summer, then a couple of weeks before camp the HC canned the idea cause he didn't wanna mess up our camp practice schedule. I think its a great idea and am gonna fight for it next year.

Dp you release the kids at 2:00 A.m? That would be kind of rough, or do you go all night and take the next day off?
Some particulars for those that have done this please?

First day of pads at midnight bring the kids in, fill the stands w/ parents & community and have practice w/ LOTS of hitting drills, high energy. Can't use the game field? Circle the practice field w/ cars and light it up.

we do a midnight madness on the last day of school in the spring.
1. kids can't go to parties 2. sets the tempo for the summer 3. lets you address the team for summer camps, practices, and weight training 4. gets the 9th grade kids and parents involved...1st time meeting a lot of them
