Any of you feel you get too confident going into a game. For instance this week we play a team with one very good player. If we stop him we will win. IF not, we will lose like the other 10 teams that played them last year did.

I have felt too confident only to find out that someone had changed the plans because they missed the meeting lol.

Two weeks ago I was too confident in my own kids (attitude, etc.) and we came out very flat. Multiple turnovers and penalites later we ended up losing one that we woulda, shoulda, coulda won. Last week we put much more emphasis on establishing and keeping intensity and it paid off with a last second win. Hopefully the kids (and the coaches) have learned the lesson.

I think the key is getting over to coaches and players that you have a right to be confident but only if you play as well as you can... we all play weaker teams, but everyone must know you will only beat them by 20,30,40 if you bring your "A"game.
I always tell my guys that it's going to be a great day to be on our team, so try and get yourself as many stats as possible, i might offer small insentives for big plays, most tackles etc, that way they always feel they have a "reason" to go flat out...
But truth be known I don't think we have ever had a problem in recent years with over confidence.
