class act!! 3 years ago we flew down for the Gopher/Northwestern game and he is out shaking hands with all the Northwestern tailgaiters at 7:30 AM making sure they are having a good time.

Was a 5-10, 205 FB at Miami (OH) when they lost one game in three years and beat Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina in back-to-back-to-back Tangerine Bowls. Played bigger than he was.
Rebuilt Miami in '90s before making NU a tough out for anyone with his Spread offense. Had a big heart and great competitive spirit. Tragic, tragic loss for his family, Northwestern, and our profession.
