Apopka FL vs South Panola MS 2008
Not sure what section this goes in but I'm searching for info on South Panola MS as we will be playing there this September.
I know they have won 75 games and 5 titles in a row. I know they are talented and well-coached. What kind of offense and defense do they run? What type of turnout do they get for games? What is the town like? What do they have returning in 2008? Who are their toughest games against? What will it take for a team to beat them? Any information is greatly appreciated. If you would feel more comfortable replying in a pm that's ok.

Panola is the perfect example of the KISS philosophy. Offensively the run from the I formation and run Power Zone, QB Counter, Iso, and I think a Toss. Defensively they lost their Defensive Coordinator this year Retired but whatever they line up in does not matter because they are big, fast, quick, and just play get after it football. The town is behind them totally because they win and you never hear of their players getting into trouble like steroids or drugs. If you are playing at their place it will be packed. To beat them it will probably take you being the head coach at USC and playing them in the Coliseum and letting Pete Carroll and his guys run things. But even at that they will not be intimidated.

Wow Pete Carroll! Is this the general consensus in Mississippi? Should we even get on the airplane?

Size, speed, and very physical pretty much sums it up. They lose a lot of seniors this year, but they seem to reload every year. The starting RB ran for 333 yards in the state championship game, but he is leaving, but they have another underclassman that is just as good. The stadium will be packed. You can go to YouTube to see some state championship game action.

I just heard Rick Darlington from Apopka HS, FL speak at the Glazier in Tulsa. After seeing their film, and their athletes and quality of coaching I have a feeling it will not be a one sided game.

Apopka is a very good program with loads of athletes. They run a form of single wing right now, and they can run with ANYONE.
I think South Panola will also run a little bit of option out of the I also.

They have lost there DC so they may struggle early on defense, but there size and speed will help make up for it. They are very physical and very talented. No one is MS can challenge them right now they have been that good. If they were to lose it could happen this year, we refer to them as the University of South Panola.
