Got to practice today. Found out that somehow the sump pumps at school got switched off and the down pour this weekend flooded the basement at school. The flood shorted out the transformers which run the athletics wing of the building. So we have no lights in the locker room equipt room etc. The VB team has no lights in the gym too. On top of that since the sump was not working water backed up through the showers and flooded the locker room. The water has receded now but left a sludge. Fortunately the waters did not make it to the equipment room so our gear was safe, and we moved it this AM.
What a way to start the season.

Adversity...builds character as you pull through it.
Get your team together for a little extra time to help clean up the mess!!

whatsa basement? baseĀ·ment (bsmnt) n. [glow=red,2,300]1. The substructure or foundation of a building. 2. The lowest habitable story of a building, usually below ground level.[/glow]3. Geology A complex of undifferentiated igneous and metamorphic rocks underlying sedimentary strata. 4. Slang The last place or lowest level, as in competitive standings. 5. Chiefly New England A public toilet, especially one in a school. And the good news is they brought in an electrician and jimmied the wirign and got the locker room lights hooked up to another circuit so now we have power. But there is still cruddy water all over. You can see that it was about 3"-4" deep by the water line left on the walls.
