and why you get in them, put them here these are OT stances in spread gun game (for us at least) your stances can be for any position for anything, offense or defense, just show us here and tell us why here is our old two point stance for the OT's, a little more upright for pass pro, and for skip pulls on dart and GT here is our new OT stance, we are going to some things release wise that will require them to be a little more hunkered down I think it all depends on what your scheme is on offense as to what kind of stance you get in. With the guards and tackles. Some, like us, want as even of a stance as possible for the guards so they can pull and block down. Some want more stagger for drive blocks. Show us a stance and how you do it. I found these images on google image search. So if you don't have any pics of your guys on your computer, find one using the wonders of the internet and show us if it is like a stance you use.

we have had both, at the same time.
we try to give them a starting point and then let them get comfortable. the taller he is the more of a stagger he will have, because tall guys are usually more comfortable like that. but i have had ot's that were almost even. short guys tend to be more upright.
i think stance is a personal thing to some degree. we are gonna tell them this is how your stance should be, then they are gonna find the place that feel right. as long as they don't have thier feet switched or something crazy, i'm good with it.

my big pet peeve is linebackers with ridiculously wide stances this probably isn't the greatest photo to illustrate that but we routinely get guys from youth league who's "old school" coach wants them to straddle a bull or something.... I want those guys more compact and balanced, shoulder width.

I think Tog is projecting his desire for new stances simply because he wants a lineman like 78 (It is always good to insult the OLine coaches first thing in the morning. Have to start the day out right)

I like those stances by Bamas def ends, nice straight back, good feet, forearm ready! Big #99 dt could get his butt down a bit, but what the hey, he's a big ole boy! Def backs look awesome, good balanced low stance, can move any direction quickly. these boys are playing football like we learned, low to the ground! Florida's O-line looks like tog and kw's stuff,(combined) center and gds in 3 pt(rt and left hand stance) ot's in 2 pt opened up slightly, looks cool huh? How bout those wr stances? Looks kinda painful to an old guy like me! Ouch!! But they sure do look fast! And no jh, Urbans not coming to georgia to get me for showing his team, its an Alabama photo, Florida just happens to be in it! lol!

here is another pic I found on the 2 point stance. To me these kids are to vertical and not very flexible in the hips.

Which OT looks more concerned about the DE, Dukes or Fla States?

That Florida RT is one of my former players how funny...
I like the stance that is chest to the thighs with hands outside the knees.
I like Toldeo's stance.

This is a picture of our offset-I backfield. The tailback's stance is pretty much exactly what we teach. I like to give a little bit of creativity because slightly different stances work for different kids. His neck is slightly bulled, with chin up and eyes looking straight ahead. His back is flat and not unnaturally or wastefully arched, and puts his chin out slightly over his knees. This helps put a bit more weight forward and eliminates the drop-step on a straight ahead take-off. The waist and knee bend are nearly perfect, and overall he has very good power angles. Notice all of his surfaces are at angles. His hands are placed lightly on the thigh pads. We stress this and tell them to avoid the knee pads and/or the top of the thigh pads, because kids have a tendancy to "lean into it" and throw off their weight distribution and slow their takeoff down. Finally, his feet are just about shoulder width apart, with toes pointed straight ahead. The fullback's stance is decent, but I have some issues with it. His neck is bulled and his eyes are straight ahead, which is a good thing. His back is flat, and he also has good power angles. His feet are at good width, and his toes are pointed straight ahead. He does not appear to be leaning or tipping either way. You can tell by his off elbow that his off hand is resting lightly on the side of his opposite leg. I would like to see his butt down just a bit more, however. I also like to see the down hand out just a bit further in front of him, so his arm is angled more rather than going straight down. Also, it looks like his nuckles are touching the turf instead of his finger tips. That's a huge pet peeve of mine. Hey, he's a sophomore and converted from tailback. I've got plenty of time with him I guess, huh!!!
