Ok, I have read a couple things recently on having practice nicknames for each day of the week. "Tell-the-Truth Monday," "No-Mistake Thursday," & "Competition Tuesday." (I saw these specifically in an article on ESPN about Pete Carroll, but I have seen others as well) My question is does any one do this and if so what the names you use? I really like this concept and it is something I am going to try and push for next season with my HC. Thanks

We use to have, "Hell to pay, I dread going to practice" Monday, if we lost or played poorly on "You better win, if you know whats good for you" Friday. Does this count?

We had "third down" Tuesday after our first 2 games. We were pathetic on offense- especially on 3rd downs. We kept it going all year through the playoffs and elevated ourselves to just kind of bad on offense. We did the same for D... first two games we gave up a lot of 3rd -10+ first downs. We did much better when we emphasized it as a "big play" down. We even tied it in to conditioning... made practice a lot more competitive.

DC does 8 turnovers qualify as "little things"?
Hez I'd like to suggest Defense Monday, Defense Tuesday, Defense Wednesday and Defense Thursday.

My theme for the practices is pretty simple.
I like to start every practice "with a bang" and get tackling and blocking in.
I build each practice around TEACH/ SHINE AND POLISH
thats about it.
