Hi Coaches,
This past season, I was very successful with an I-Right formation seen here (i hope)
....E..T..G..C..G..T..E ................Q........................................WR
................FB ................HB
On cadence, the formation would shift to the below
....E..T..G..C..G..T..E ................Q...............FB.......................WR
................HB
And we'd pitch it out to the right. Worked espeically well against the blitz happy coaches.
My question - What could I run off of this? Some type of counter to the FB? PA PAss? Not sure.
Youth football - 13 yr olds.
Thanks in advance

You can have your QB pitch and then roll out to the left. After running it a few times, boot off of it. Pull the guards and run a waggle look back to the left, with the TE/WR crossing over to the boot side.
You can also run a fake pitch inside counter to the FB.
A third option is to go ahead and pitch to the HB who then hands it off to the WR on the reverse. If the defense is over pursuing and your QB can get a good block, you can get a big play off of it.

How about a HB option pass?

Any Belly option you can think of with the (late) pitch...
Speed option to the opposite side...
Wait... this is youth ball right?
In that case, fake the toss, and have the QB Trap...

Inside Counter to the WB/FB We run it out of a Wing I with the win to the SE side so you may have to tweak it alittle.
HB fake pitch QB fake pitch to HB then bring the ball around on an inside handoff to the FB FB take a dropstep and follow lineman cut up as soon as he makes contact. Pull the tackle and block the first down defender past the center. Have the gaurd or center punch the man you are trapping and then release up field so the DL doesn't get to the QB as he is handing off.

After you abuse them off tackle or sweeping to the trips side there, our easiest pa pass was a quick pop pass to the backside te. after a run fake away. Lots of good routes available to the trips side with a part roll and one of my favorites is jh's sneaky wb/fb across the field throwback pass, depending on the coverage you see? JH's play sets up kinda like this for your formation- both te's block then release upfield, wr run some kind of clear out route such as post/corner, tb swings to the trips or could block backside if needed then release to backside flats , qb 1/2 rolls out to trips side, fb blocks down replacing te then sneaks across the field a couple yards across the los max. , o-line pass block for half roll, qb looks 1st at trips routes then throws back to fb. The play seems to be effective every time they try it, cause the fb/wb gets lost in the crowd lol. los

With the fb out there on the wing, bubble screen to the wr might set up nice with the fb angling out to block for him, then to be sneaky let the hb swing outside for the old hook and lateral play?

Have the QB fake the pitch and run a naked bootleg. Only person in the huddle that knows should be the QB. You could also run a toss pass if your RB can throw the ball. Next pass could be fake the toss and run a dump pass to the TE.

How about a HB option pass? Good call, esp. if the TB is your "stud" and you have at least one decent receiver. Also, a reverse, QB boot keep/pass, QB belly, or an underneath HO counter to the FB-WB or a shovel pass to the FB-WB.

good stuff guys thanks. All good plays. I think for my personal, the HB pitch & pass and bubble screen to the WR have the most potential.
Pop pass is a great play, but my TE's are to short.

We actually run a similar formation occasionally and have a trap opposite to the wing. All the skill personnel sell sweep. The QB reverses out, fakes pitch and continues around and gives it to the wing. Strong side guard pulls and traps first man past the playside guard. Center blocks back and playside guard blocks down if necessary. Playside tackle goes and gets an LB and Playside end goes to second level to outside LB/Corner. The DE opposite of the wing almost always comes up field and takes himself out of play. I have never seen him make the play on it, but it is somewhat a risk. After a 1 or 2 successful sweeps, we usually pop that play for 15+.
