By the way...
Plano had 3 guys hit double digits in rushing yards.
Their stud all-Stater Nick Nasti (yes, that is REALLY the kid's name ;D) had 204 yards on 21 carries and 2 TDs. Nasti also caught the only Plano completion, a 10-yard TD.
Not bad for a day's work!

Yup...
They also showed some Dub Tight Dub Wing, but with Wing T splits... as well as a Trips bunch, and a Wing T, with a split end...
But for the most part... they were Double Dive right and left... 3 card monte', you guess who has the ball... FB, WB/HB, or QB keep!
It was pretty awesome to behold...
Mostly, though, it wasn't the backs that should get the credit... their o-line was beyond belief!

Crap...I left at halftime of Driscoll and MAter Dei. Honestly, 1A and 2A games were so boring that I couldn't take it anymore. Way too much passing. Way too many incompletions. (plus, being in the same conference as both of these teams next year already has me annoyed).
We had to play ST. Joe last year in the playoffs and they ran the ball exclusively. I am a little surprised to see they threw the ball so much.

6A Football Playoffs: Jesuit 65, Sheldon 7 Posted by The Oregonian Preps Desk November 24, 2006 22:28 Categories: Prep Game Stories
By BRAD McCRAY
THE OREGONIAN
BEAVERTON - Paul Weatheroy looked like he was part of a video game Friday night, bursting through Sheldons defensive line and blowing by defensive backs with superlative ease. The Jesuit senior finished with 329 yards and five touchdowns on 25 carries to lead the No. 1 Crusaders over No. 2 Sheldon 65-7 in a Class 6A quarterfinals game that should send shockwaves of fear through the remaining championship contenders.
We have a good team and weve had a great season, Sheldon athletic director and former football coach Mark Risen said. But that team (Jesuit) is the best football team Ive ever seen.
Cronin Field was nearly full an hour before kickoff as many fans anticipated a close match-up. Instead, Jesuit (11-0) showed there is a gulf between itself and the rest of the state. The Crusaders (11-0) rushed for 514 yards, took the lead before touching the ball and led 9-0 before allowing Sheldon (11-1) to throw a pass or hand the ball to a running back.
"We had a game plan and (we) worked it to perfection, Jesuit coach Ken Potter said. Our defense took away the things they wanted to do. On offense, we controlled the point of attack and let Paul run the way Paul runs."
Jesuit dominated from the opening snap. On Sheldons first play from scrimmage, the Crusaders blitzed and Sean Williams sacked Irish quarterback Alex Besaw for a 12-yard loss. On the next play, Zach Sanchez-Vitale tackled Besaw for a safety and a 2-0 lead. Jesuit got the ball after a free kick and marched 58 yards on five players despite three penalties and a negated touchdown and took a 9-0 lead on Weatheroys 17-yard run.
Operating behind a dominant line that averaged 252 pounds, Weatheroy rushed for 115 yards on 12 carries in the first quarter. The 193-pound senior carried 10 times for 76 yards during on the Crusaders second drive, scoring on a 10-yard run to make it 16-0 on the first play of the second quarter. He added a five-yard touchdown before the half to make it 30-0.
My offensive line did a great job of opening holes and I just tried to pay them back, Weatheroy said. They made it easier for me.
The second half began similar to the first. On the first possession, Weatheroy reversed field and ran 81 yards almost untouched to stretch the lead to 37-0. Then Raphiel Lambert intercepted a pass and returned it 57 yards to make it 44-0. Weatheroys final carry was a 67-yard touchdown to make it 51-0. He has rushed for 2,087 yards and 29 touchdowns this season.
Jesuit amassed 297 yards offense in the first half, allowing just 27. Sheldon finished with 15 yards rushing and 133 yards passing, 66 during a fourth-quarter scoring drive. Lambert finished with 154 yards total offense, including a 69-yard touchdown run.
Bo Moos, son of University of Oregon athletic director Bill Moos, led the Irish on both sides of the ball as a defensive lineman and fullback.
